Best movies, worst songs. It’s that time of year. In that spirit -- or maybe after we consume a few spirits -- we bring you a list of food trends that the editors of Epicurious, the food website, see for 2009.

Among their predictions:

Peruvian is the new Thai.

Noodle bars are the new sushi joints.

Ginger is the new mint.

And ‘value’ could replace ‘sustainable’ in food shopping decisions, thanks to an economy that’s in tatters.
