Egyptian opposition leader Ayman Nour, president of the Ghad Party, has been struggling for years against President Hosni Mubarak’s sometimes heavy-handed rule.
In an interview with the Carnegie Middle East Center, part of a series of videotaped sessions with Egyptian political figures to be presented on Babylon & Beyond, Nour explains his party’s decision to boycott the Nov. 28 parliamentary elections, which he dismisses as a ‘masquerade’ meant to ‘grant legitimacy to fraud.’
