The ‘Twilight Saga’ movies have looked eerily like the undead at the Teen Choice Awards in recent years: Nothing, apparently, could kill them. Not only have various films in the franchise devoured all rivals, but one of them — ‘Eclipse’ — is back competing again this year after sweeping at last year’s Teen Choice Awards! Spooky!
No one’s tried wielding a wooden stake yet, though — and maybe, just maybe, the intervention of another stick of wood, Harry Potter’s wand — might do the trick and defeat them at last?
Last year, ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ competed for best summer movie against some rather lame rivals like ‘The Last Airbender’ and ‘Knight and Day.’ Now it competes for best sci-fi/fantasy film against more formidable foes: ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,’ ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,’ ‘X-Men: First Class’ and ‘Super 8.’ Has it finally met its match?
