When it comes to beauty products, we’re a picky lot. But the following new products passed our real-life road tests with flying colors.

Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss, $23. If you’re thinking that high shine should be left to the junior high set, think again. Bobbi Brown’s new shimmer-packed glosses are so jampacked with reflective pearl (steeped in a base of clear gloss), they’re less glittery and more lustrous when applied to lips. Hel-lo, nightlife.

Dove Nourishing Oil Care collection, $4.49 and $5.99. The bargain brand synonymous with clean has come up with a fabulous set of hair products — including a serum, conditioners, a shampoo and a styling cream — specially formulated for frizzy and damaged hair. And, in a word, it’s competitive; its hydrating mineral oil-infused formulations stack up to many luxury shampoos, leaving our slightly poufy hair frizz-free and manageable, not to mention smelling Breck-fresh. Drug store gold.

Sunbow Zinc Oxide Cream, $12.99. Get kids fired up about being slathered in sunscreen with Sunbow’s new all-natural SPF 30 sun creams — packaged in two bambino-friendly tubes, showing SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer. Another fun fact: The creams go on light yellow and pink, respectively, but fade to clear when rubbed in.

Sultra Feather Hair Accents, $25. Whether you’re looking for a pop of wild color or a boost from a barely-there neutral, these clip-on feather extensions will get you in on hair’s most ubiquitous trend since beachy waves — for a modest price. Best of all, the Sultra versions can be curled, crimped, straightened and cut, just like regular hair, and are a literally a snap to put in.
