Grammys beauty: Jennifer Lopez’s sexy ‘70s hair

Jennifer Lopez looked the part of ‘70s siren in a gilded Versace gown that had a peek-a-boo slit down her right leg. Her hair stylist Robert Vetica drew on the decade when it came to doing her hair, parting it straight down the middle and adding perfectly rippled waves throughout.

Volume and texture were hallmarks of the all-one-length look -- kind of a homage to the Guy Bourdin goddesses with light-socket volume and slightly frizzy waves.

Vetica parted the hair down the middle, then used a 1-inch curling iron, curling each section and dragging curled spirals down. He started in the back working his way toward the front, curling in a direction away from Lopez’s face. After the curled hair set, he finger-brushed the hair and applied Moroccanoil styling cream to hold the set and add additional texture. Vetica then brushed out the hair and back-combed from the underneath for even more fullness and volume.

Too much back-combing and the look would be more shock than awe, but J Lo’s dress and grooming came together with a sexy, ‘70s appeal.
