Al Martino, a singer and actor from South Philly who died Tuesday, is probably best known today for his role in Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather.’ Playing Johnny Fontane, a character many consider to be modeled on Frank Sinatra, he comes to Don Corleone’s daughter’s wedding to perform and to ask a favor.
In this memorable scene from the 1972 film, Don Corleone (played by Marlon Brando) gives his singular bit of advice.
